Joe qualified as a dentist in 1978 at the University of Pretoria after which he served as a dental officer in the SA Army during his two years of national service. During the same year he married a qualified dental nurse and hygienist who he is working with on a daily basis until now.

Joe’s military career took him to a lovely little town in Eastern Free-State called Bethlehem where he lived with his wife and four children. Joe settled in a private practice and provided patients with outstanding care for over 17 years. In 1998 Joe emigrated to the UK and worked in mixed NHS and private practices in Newbury until 2004. Soon after, his endodontic career started in Fleet having taken over the endo practice from a well-known endodontist.

Joe’s passion for root canal treatment led him to complete years of studying at Eastman Dental University in London. He is now the lead endodontist at Heath Dental Suite with many years of experience in root canal treatments as well as complex cases and re-treatment. Joe is passionate about delivering the highest quality of care to his patients, always in professional and friendly manner.

Considering Joe’s upbringing, he loves sports such as rugby and cricket, as well as barbequing which is his speciality. Joe is always keen to learn new things and is currently taking weekly lessons and learning to play the piano. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his four children and six grandchildren.

Simon Smallwood qualified from Guys Hospital in 1988. After working in the hospital, he moved to Norfolk to provide general dentistry. In 1995 he completed a Master’s degree in prosthetic dentistry from the University of London.

Simon started taking referrals for prosthetic dentistry in Fleet from 1996. In 1997 he completed a year-long course at the Eastman Dental Hospital in implant-based dentistry. Over the following 25 plus years he has developed his interest in restorative and implant-based dentistry. He currently takes referrals for most implant and restorative cases.

Alaa graduated from Kings College London in 2014 with Honours and awarded the prestigious Maurice Wohl prize. Alaa has also received many commendations for oral surgery, restorative and periodontal care during his 5-year training.

Following graduation, Alaa spent time in Berkshire and Oxfordshire completing his foundation training and associate role in practice. He currently works in private practice limited to treating complex and advanced cases of patients with periodontal disease. This involves both non-surgical and surgical management and strives to ensure patients are cared for in an open and relaxed manner.

Alaa is currently completing his MClinDent in Periodontology being mentored by world leading periodontists with a view of becoming a specialist in the field. He has authored in dental education and published in peer reviewed journals in relation to his field of periodontology.

Alaa has a passion for education and mentoring the younger generation of dentists to ensure they are as fully equipped for the future challenges in the lifelong career of dentistry. Hence, he has lectured and taught at university as well as being involved in workshops to impart his experience and knowledge to the next generation of dentists.

Daljit graduated from the Royal London Hospital in 1993. Since qualifying he has established Dental surgeries in High Wycombe and North Hillingdon.

Daljit is passionate about transforming patient’s smiles and improving their confidence through high quality, painless dental treatments and provides care with whole health and life benefit in mind. He is very experienced in cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics and implant treatment and as a dentist is gentle, kind and compassionate.

Daljit has worked as a Clinical Assistant to the lead Restorative Consultant at Kingston NHS Trust in the Restorative Dentistry Department. From here Daljit developed his interest in Implant Dentistry.

Since 2003, he has attended many worldwide seminars, hands-on workshops, lectures and courses in Implant dentistry and currently also works at a training clinic where he passes on his expertise to new dental implantologists. At these clinics he consults patients and carries out the more difficult cases, especially sinus lifts and bone grafts using the latest advances in implant and digital technology.

Daljit is happy to accept Implant referrals directly from patients themselves and from local practitioners for implant placement, restorations and more difficult cases. At Escentics Dental Centre we use the latest digital technologies to plan and carry out implant treatment with a high level of success.

Dentistry is one aspect of life changing treatments that Daljit offers to patients, he is also qualified in treating patients to enhance and improve their confidence through facial aesthetic and rejuvenation treatments.

Daljit has a keen interest in exploring different forms of cuisine, and has a great passion for cooking, he loves spending time with his three children.
